I started to ask myself questions I had never considered before. “Is health a choice and if so could any of the choices I had been making over many years, however small, be the cause of some or all of my problems? What would happen if I made different choices? Do I actually have the power to effect the quality of my own health?”
The answer was a resounding YES. Although it definitely did not happen overnight. At one stage I had suffered from a condition called costocondritis, inflammation of the cartilage of the chest. It was so painful that when my young son would hug me, the slight pressure of his head resting on my chest would cause severe pain. After only 6 months on my health journey it had completely resolved after many years of pain. My generalised anxiety greatly diminished, my energy levels started to rise, my sleeping greatly improved. And as I consistently looked for new ways to incorporate good habits and crowding out the bad habits, I continued and still continue to see improvements in my health and vitality.
That journey began over 10 years ago, and it sparked in me a fire that has only burned brighter with time. And with that time grew an increasing desire to want to learn more, and maybe even learn enough to help other people. But where would I start?
It wasn’t until 2015 when my wife and I had our second son that an opportunity arose to break the traditional family roles. We decided that now would be the time and possibly only time to embark on this journey to become a Naturopath. My wife decided to go back to work, and I became a stay at home father/Naturopathic Student.
Fast forward to the present to where you find me now practicing as a fully qualified Naturopathic clinician when I have the privilege of working with some very experienced Naturopaths and health professionals that continue to provide me invaluable insight and experience.
Since graduating I have found myself drawn to all areas of health with particular interests in auto immune disease, anxiety support, chronic disease management, adjunct Cancer care as well as Nutrition.
I look forward to meeting you and your family and doing my best to help you along your own unique health journey.
